Carols By The Sea - Bondi Beach
Mobile Stage Truck was privileged to be a part of the 1st outdoor Carols by the Sea, organized by Bondi Pavillion and Waverley Council, and sponsored by Commonwealth Bank.
It was a wind-swept, beautiful Summer evening with the iconic Bondi Beach as a backdrop. The event kicked off with great performances by The Primary School Rock Stars and Bondi Beach Public School string group who showed no nerves singing in front of such a big audience. Next up was children’s favourite, The Kid’s Covers Show who had all the children (and a few parents) up and dancing.
As the last of the sun melted away into a glorious evening Councillor Sally Betts welcomed onto the stage The Waverley Bondi Beach Band, the Australian Youth Choir, Choral on Bondi and Carols by the Sea Choirs who sang some amazing classic Christmas Carols and a few Aussie versions too. The whole park was full of families on picnic rugs and during the night a surprise visitor arrived on a surf club buggy…Santa and his elves!
The event finished at 8.30pm with everyone singing We Wish you a Merry Christmas and some beautiful closing music by the band. Thanks to Tara Smith and her team, the event was an unforgettable night and we hope to be back in 2011 for more Carols by the Sea at Bondi.
