Manly Food, Wine and Sustainability Festival
We love Manly.
Back on the beachfront with our smaller stage “the Gig Rig”, we were surrounded by an abundance of food and wine stalls and thousands of smiling faces. We had a barbie up on stage for some impressive cooking demos by local chefs and of course, a fantastic bunch of local musos to keep everyone toe-tapping over the whole two day event.
The music kicked off with Genevieve Chadwick, who wooed the crowd with her stunning energy and set the pace for the rest of the weekend.
We had the gorgeous Zoe Elliot back on stage - true home-grown talent making her way in leaps and bounds onto the big circuit and another of our favourites Mimesis who are as intriguing as they are talented.
Kinetic Method and John Hardaker Direction were also fantastic, as was the MC, Chris Hague, a Brisbane radio announcer/comedian.
Undeniably Jack Vidgen, who Manly folk knew and loved before fame struck, caused quite the sensation when he took the stage. As always, he was magnificent and it was far from only the teenage girls who were screaming and cheering for that performance! I think all involved felt a wave of pride in this young man – we sure did.
All in all the event was a massive success, with over 30,000 people enjoying the fun and festivities.
Henry Wong, the GM of Manly Council was once again doubling up as photographer extra-ordinaire and you can see some of his terrific shots on the Manly Council Photo Gallery.
From us to Manly, a huge thanks and we look forward to seeing you all back there soon.
